Shelter Plus Care 

The San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) oversees the Shelter Plus Care Program, a federally funded effort  to provide long-term housing and supportive services for chronically homeless persons with disabilities such as mental illness, AIDS, and drug or alcohol abuse. Recipients receive rental assistance in conjunction with supportive services funded by other agencies.

SDHC's Shelter Plus Care Program currently provides funding for 211 housing units. They are summarized below:

 St. Vincent de Paul:  

  30 units at Village Place 

  15 units at Villa Harvey Mandel 

 The Association of Community Housing Solutions:  

  35 units at Prism Project  

  22 units at The Del Mar 

  15 units at The Cove  

  14 units at Beta  Project 

 Pathfinders of San Diego: 

  15 units at Delta Project 

   8 units at Streamview 

 South Bay Community Services:  

  12 units at La Posada 

 CSSE/Karibu:  

  18 units  

 Stepping Stone:  

  22 units 

 Townspeople:  

   5 units
