Project Homeless Connect - Volunteer Now!

It takes a team effort to address homelessness. We are assembling that team right now. On January 11, 2012, San Diego’s 6^th Annual Project Homeless Connect will be held at Golden Hall, on the San Diego Concourse. The San Diego Housing Commission is the lead organizer for Project Homeless Connect, an annual one-day resource fair, that provides health screenings, flu shots, dental exams, haircuts, drug counseling, legal aid, housing counseling and other services for San Diego’s homeless families, veterans, seniors and disabled.

Whether you are an organization that can provide needed services; an individual who wishes to volunteer for the day or a community member who has items to donate - We need your help.

In January of this year, Project Homeless Connect brought together 54 organizations and 240 volunteers to help 660 homeless people.

The San Diego Housing Commission is the lead organizer for Project Homeless Connect, providing financial support and the agency’s web site to recruit team members. Our major partners include the Interfaith Shelter Network, Family Health Centers of San Diego, and St. Vincent de Paul Village.

Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to staff the registration table, escort our clients to different stations, provide food service and perform other key tasks.

Donations Needed

Sponsor your own school, office, or family donation drive for San Diego homeless individuals and families.

Donations can be dropped off at Golden Hall THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT, TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
